Why choose us

Why Choose San Antonio Public Adjuster?

After a loss, your insurer sends its own adjuster, and sometimes an engineer or estimator. Their job is to evaluate the claim for the insurance company. A licensed public adjuster is the only claim professional who works for you.

San Antonio Public Adjuster helps homeowners and business owners across Bexar County understand their coverage, document the full scope of damage, and present a clear, well-supported claim, so decisions are based on complete information instead of a rushed first inspection.

  • Policy review — coverages, deductibles, exclusions, and deadlines explained in plain English.
  • Thorough documentation — photos, measurements, and Xactimate line-item estimates of visible and hidden damage.
  • Estimate review — we compare the insurer’s estimate with what repairs actually require in San Antonio.
  • Communication handled — we work with the insurer’s adjuster through settlement.
  • Honest guidance — if we don’t think we can help, we’ll tell you.

Storm Damage in San Antonio and Bexar County

San Antonio sits where Hill Country storms meet Gulf moisture: large hail, damaging downbursts, flash flooding along the Balcones Escarpment, and the occasional hard freeze. Here is what the official NOAA record shows, and why a San Antonio Public Adjuster pays close attention to storm dates.

0hail reports in Bexar County since 1957
0reports of golf-ball-size (1.75") hail or larger
0flood and flash-flood reports

Hail season peaks March–MayApril is the busiest hail month in Bexar County. The April 12, 2016 storm dropped hail up to 4.5" across northwest San Antonio; on May 3, 2021, 5.5" hail fell near China Grove.
Flash Flood AlleyHeavy rain over the Balcones Escarpment makes Bexar County one of the most flash-flood-prone areas in the country. Flood needs its own policy, separate from homeowners coverage.
Freezes & ice stormsWinter Storm Uri (February 2021) brought wind chills near −5°F and widespread burst pipes. Ice storms followed in 2022, 2025, and January 2026.

Local building codes

San Antonio Building Codes and Your Repairs

Roof replacements and many structural repairs inside San Antonio city limits require permits and inspections through the City of San Antonio Development Services Department. Suburban cities such as Alamo Heights, Leon Valley, and Schertz run their own permit offices.

Code-required work can raise repair costs. Whether your insurer pays for it depends on your policy, usually through ordinance or law coverage, which often has its own limit. Code requirements alone don’t create coverage.

San Antonio Public Adjuster FAQs

What does a San Antonio Public Adjuster do?

A public adjuster is a claim professional licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance who represents the policyholder, not the insurance company. As a San Antonio Public Adjuster, we review your policy, inspect and document the damage, prepare a detailed line-item estimate, and communicate with your insurer about the claim. Our work covers hail, wind, storm, flood, freeze, fire, smoke, and water damage on homes and commercial buildings.

How much does a public adjuster cost in Texas?

Fees are disclosed in a written contract before any work begins; Texas law caps public adjuster compensation at 10% of the insurance settlement. Texas public adjuster contracts must also use TDI-approved terms and give you 72 hours after signing to cancel. The Free Claim Review costs nothing and carries no obligation.

Is a public adjuster the same as the insurance company's adjuster?

No. The adjuster your insurer sends, whether a staff or independent adjuster, evaluates the claim on the insurer's behalf. A public adjuster is hired by you and represents the insured only. Both may inspect the same property, but they work for different parties.

Can you help if my claim was denied or underpaid?

Often, yes. We can review the denial letter or estimate, your policy, and the evidence to see whether damage was missed or whether there is a basis to ask the insurer to reconsider. Results depend on the policy and the facts, so no one can promise a different outcome. See our denied claims and underpaid claims pages. For lawsuits or deadlines to sue, consult a Texas attorney.

Does homeowners insurance cover flood damage in San Antonio?

Standard homeowners and commercial property policies generally exclude flood. Flood coverage comes from the National Flood Insurance Program or a private flood policy, and NFIP policies typically have a 30-day waiting period. Water that enters through a storm-damaged roof is usually handled differently from rising floodwater. See flood damage claims.

What areas do you serve?

San Antonio Public Adjuster serves San Antonio and all of Bexar County, plus nearby communities such as Alamo Heights, Leon Valley, Helotes, Live Oak, Converse, Universal City, Schertz, Boerne, and New Braunfels. See our service areas.
